The Return Of Hostess Twinkies

Since Hostess Twinkies have come back I thought I'd do a small tribute based on the old 70's Hostess ads in the comics. In the superhero comics at the time, the ad was a one page comic story where the superhero or heroine would go up a against a villain and somehow defeat the villain with the use of a Hostess snack cake or pie. Yes, back then the plots were very lame for the ads, but they were fun to read. Mainly cause you never knew which hero would be featured, regardless of what title or issue you bought. For example if you bought a Superman book at that time, the Hostess ad might feature Batman, or if you bought a Fantastic Four comic, the Hostess ad might feature Spider-Man.

My ad is an original featuring Wonder Woman & my OC villain, The Mind Controller. I'm in the process of hypnotizing my latest victim when Wonder Woman decides to show up using the return of Hostess Twinkies to get me to surrender. Normally I don't do renders of me being defeated by the heroine, but I wanted to do this exactly like the style of the old Hostess ads as a tribute to the old comics.

So those of you who like to see Wonder Woman defeat me, enjoy it, cause you'll never see me do this again! LOL

On a personal note, I was glad when news came out that the Hostess Co. was returning. I was sad when they went bankrupt and were gone cause they were a very important part of my childhood.
